Boston apr Gelindo Bordin on monday became the first olympic menus Champion to win the Boston Marathon As Juma ikan Gaa was runner up for the third straight year. Rosa Mota of Portugal easily won the women s race for the third time in four years. Mota the first woman to win the Boston Marathon three times finished in 2 25 24. Far ahead of runner up Uta Pippig of West Germany. Mota won Here in 1987 and 1988 and captured the olympic Marathon in 1988. Bordin of Italy overtook ikan Gaa of Tanzania with about six Miles left and won comfortably in 2 hours 8 minutes 19 seconds. Bordin also an �?T88 olympic Champ passed ikan Gaa on Heartbreak Hill one of the most grueling sections of the course.
