Davis had three hits in each game. His three homers tied a club Mark for a double header set by roman Mejias against the Milwaukee braves on May 2, 1962. In the opener Davis had two Home runs and five no Roundup Bis and Mike Scott ended a three game losing Streak As the astros won. My biggest Hope was to just see the pitches getting them lined up in a zone instead of trying to do too much Davis said. One thing Davis says he has to learn is not to give in to pitchers and make them throw strikes. When your club is struggling and losing everybody has been trying to do too much Davis said. Pirates 10, giants 4 Pittsburgh Wally Backman had three hits and drove in three runs and Doug Drabek won his sixth consecutive decision leading Pittsburgh past san Francisco. Dodgers 8, cardinals 0 St. Louis Mike Morgan pitched a five hitter for his major league leading third shutout As los Angeles Defeated St. Louis. The cardinals have scored three or fewer runs in 25 of their 43 games and have lost six of their last nine. Morgan who has four Complete games struck out three and walked one to improve to 6-3. In his last Start a flu Ridden Morgan gave up nine runs on seven hits in 2 a innings against new York. Lenny Harris and Stan Javier each had three run triples for the dodgers. Johnny Ray and Max Venable each had three hits and scored three runs As California routed Milwaukee for its sixth straight Victory. Wally Joyner and Chili Davis each drove in two runs As the Angels had a season High 15 hits to Back Bert Blyleven s five hit pitching. Orioles 7, rangers 5 Arlington Texas Billy Ripken and Joe Orsu Lak scored on a double steal and two throwing errors in the 11th inning As Baltimore beat Texas. Ripken led off the 1 i in with a walk off loser Jeff Russell 1-4 and was sacrificed to second. After an intentional walk to Orsulak Russell struck out c Al Ripken on a 3-2 pitch with both runners moving. Catcher John Russell s throw glanced off third base Man Steve Buechele s Glove and into foul territory allowing Billy Ripken to score. Buechle s throw to tin plate was wild allowing Orsulak to score.
