Norwalk Conn. Apr saturday was supposed to be Kathleen Gooley a wedding Day. But when the Groom backed out and she got stuck with the reception Bill the jilted Bride decided to give her party to the homeless. The 41-year-old Gooley of Norwalk found herself thrust into the National spotlight when after her Fiance got cold feet two months ago she and an intended bridesmaid decided to reorganize the event for 150 homeless people from southwestern Connecticut. A we would have been doing this at this time anyway a Gooley said saturday As she watched her guests dance to the music of a disc jockey who donated his time. A i Hope somebody else in the same situation will do the same  busloads of homeless men women and children from Norwalk and nearby Stamford and Bridgeport arrived at the Pink and White decorated Cano Gate catering Hall just after noon. Some were wearing jeans and to shirts others shirts and ties or dresses. Many Hadnot had a hot meal in weeks. The main course was stuffed Chicken breast and string Beans Almandine with cake ice Cream and Coffee for dessert. Tara Gooley at 11 the youngest of Gooley a three children left a photocopied note on each plate that read a Hope you have a great Day a with pictures of Teddy bears. A a in be seen stories on to about them the homeless and it makes me really sad a she said. A a in a very fortunate to have what i have now  the intended bridesmaid Rinda fam Ham thought of giving the party for the homeless after the caterer refused to refund $4,000 of the $5,800 Gooley had paid Gooley said. She said she agreed because she and one of her children then a baby spent a night in a shelter 23 years ago. Gooley a balance bought 118 dinners. Everything else was donated including the buses that transported the guests. Members of the Public who heard through the Media walked into the reception and offered cakes brownies and checks. Gooley and fam Ham appeared on Joan Rivers to talk show on tuesday. Rivers gave $500, which paid for 16 dinners. Cano Gate owner Ginger Sollazzo Ray mond contributed another 16 dinners for a total of 150. Ralph Blechner an electrical Engineer walked into the reception and handed Gooley a $500 Check. A i saw it in the paper and 1 thought now this is a great lady a he said. The guests swarmed around Gooley when she emerged from a Back room hugging her kissing her on the Cheek and applauding. One guest Ralph Wayne a 37-year-old unemployed Stamford Man stepped outside to get some air while the dancing and eating continued inside. The festivities were Nice Wayne said. But he found the event sad. A she did no to get married a he said. A but then again it came to Good , 2 sons rescued after 5 Days in . Cave Franklin . Up a a Florida Man and his two Young sons were pulled Early saturday from a Cave where they were trapped in total darkness without food and water for five Days. Pendleton county authorities said Gary William Lutes 37, of Tampa and his sons Gary 13, and Timothy 9, entered a Side Trail in the new Trout Cave on monday morning intending to explore for about two hours. Lutes said their lamps began to falter and he headed Back for the opening of the Cave with his boys. But the Light failed completely before they got out trapping them. He said they had left their packs containing food and water on the main Trail of the Cave. Ironically the three were just 200 Yards from their packs but the darkness was so Complete they had no Way of knowing it. A we would have had to crawl on our hands and Knees and we could have gone in circles or in the wrong direction a Lutes said. A we decided the Best thing to do was sit Down and wait for someone to find  state police were notified of their disappearance by the boys grandparents. Lutes was to drop them off in Powhatan va., on thursday. When he did no to show up the grandparents called police. Lutes had parked his car about 4 Miles from Franklin. Rescue Crews began searching for the family late Friday and they were found Early saturday. The Man and boys were treated for dehydration at a local Hospital before being transferred to a Harrisonburg va., Hospital. All three were expected to be released sunday. Abilene Texas apr a world War ii Era fighter plane crashed saturday during an air show at Dyess fab killing the Pilot authorities said. The plane crashed next to a runway at 1 05 p.m., said sgt. Nickie forge a spokesman for the base near Abilene. Retired it. Col. Jack Morgan who was announcing the air show saw the plane crash nose first. A it had taken off and had flown one pass Down the runway and was circling Back to come in for a second pass a he said. A was he was turning Back toward the Field the air plane appeared to lose control and it went into the  the plane did no to bum said Mark Jeffries who was covering the air show for radio station Kolc. The rest of the show was cancelled after the crash which occurred during the bases annual big country appreciation Day. The plane did not crash near the crowd authorities said. The Pilot was identified As Donald Vincent Knapp 58, of Abilene. The privately owned plane was a single engine p-51 Mustang said a duty officer at the Federal aviation administrations regional office in fort Worth. An Faa investigator was in route to the crash site. The cause was not immediately known. The Pilot and plane had been flying a in support of the Confederate air show forge said in a statement. The non profit Confederate air Force restores and flies military aircraft. Its Harlingen Headquarters and museum Are Texas 10th most popular tourist attraction.
