The week before the Skjerne tourist office had reported excellent fishing. Two weeks of continuous Sunshine had warmed up the Chilly Spring Waters and made the fish Active. But if there is one sure thing about fishing it is that it will change. Just before we arrived the weather had turned Cool and Windy and the action had slacked a off. In fact it had just about died. But even without the fish the fishing was Beautiful. The first Day was Gray and Chilly but then the next dawned with Cotton Cloud skies and a fresh Breeze blowing across the marshes. One evening 1 fished the Gunde Sbol River a narrow trickle of a Stream that winds through pastures and Cornfields. It varies from about 10 to 15 feet wide and is easily a debate with hip boots. The Bottom is mainly firm Sand. Because of its High Steep Banks a six or seven feet in most places a you get the strange feeling you Are fishing below ground level. Care is necessary getting in and out of the water because of the the author releases a Trout near Ringsted.
