And its often quite funny in a Bent and trashy sort of Way. Fairlane is a private investigator specializing in music Industry cases a leather jacketed neanderthal with a cigarette shoulder Holster whose motto is Quot so Many so few  he s drawn into a conspiracy that develops when the Singer for a heavy Metal band Vince Neil of Motley Crue drops dead on stage. Ford also has a number of funny run ins with it. Amos de o Neill of to s married,., with children cop who once Sang in a disco band that recorded a song called Booty time. He carries a grudge against Ford because the detective who was then working As a record publicist refused to push the song. Finnish director Renny Harfin who also steered Bruce Willis through the Airport minefields of die hard 2, has a hard time keeping the proceedings focused. But that hardly matters since this whole Deai exists Only to serve As a vehicle for the diceman s swaggering machismo Persona. But that s balanced somewhat by an unexpected and late evolving subplot about Fairlane s efforts to form a family of sorts that includes his Alt purpose Torch bearing Secretary jazz Lauren Holly and an orphaned Beach bum kid Brandon Call who looks to him As a sort of warped father  adventure of Ford Falgiane is a loud crude raucous rough edged movie that s impossible to rate. If you like Clay s comic act you la like the movie if you Don to you won t. And if you re totally unfamiliar with the Dice Man let s just say that your enjoyment of this film will be directly proportional to your fondness for outhouse humor.
