By Mark wonders staff writer now before the cold weather sets in is a Good time to take a walk through two interesting Parks in Saa Brucken Germany. The Deutsch Franzos Ischer Garten or French German Garden located on the French German Luxembourg Border offers the walking sightseer a Potpourri of colors sights and sounds that seem even More vivid during these mid autumn Days. Located on the outskirts of Saar Brincken the Park which was created by landscape architects from both countries was conceived after a referendum on oct. 23,1955, that resulted in France recognizing Saarland As a state of the then Federal Republic of West Germany. The vote made it Clear it was time to develop a peaceful and Friendly relationship and the Park became an important Symbol of that spirit. The vast Range of colors in the various Flower gardens and in the living landscapes throughout the Park is dramatically increased with the additional splash of the autumn foliage. Be sure to carry some stale bread Popcorn or other treats for the ducks and swans that will boldly Greet you when you reach a Pond at the end of the Park. But if you be forgotten to take anything Don t worry. Other visitors will probably be there Well supplied with goodies As the Pond and its ducks Are among the Garden s most popular attractions. If you care to see your new feathered friends from a different View try a pedal boat on the Pond which costs 5 Marks about $3.50 for adults and 3 Marks for children. Or get a Birds Eye View by taking a ride on the Park s chairlift. For a fee 5 Marks for adults 3.50 Marks for children you can experience the full Beauty of the Park on a round trip ride. After completing your stroll through nature take a Little Side trip through history at the other Park which is adjacent the Deutsch Franzos Ischer Garten features a mix of colors in Well landscaped plots As Well As below a flock of Friendly fowl. P to the Friendship Park. This amusement Park which has an additional admission fee is called Gulliver Welt or Gulliver s world after the fictional Seaman who washed ashore on the land of the lilliputian. It includes 65 scaled Down copies of famous buildings and monuments from All Over the Globe. Among them Are an Eiffel Tower about 20 meters High the Tower Bridge and big Ben from London India s Taj mahal the Vatican in Rome and the Neuse Hanstein Castle in Germany. For those feeling just a bit homesick there Are also the statue of Liberty in new York the Gateway Arch in St. Louis the White House in Washington and fort Knox in Kentucky. In addition to the Small structures Rich in variety and detail there Are kiddie amusement rides so there is plenty to keep the entire family entertained. A number of restaurants scattered throughout both Parks can satisfy your thirst or hunger. They offer everything from soft drinks Coffee and snacks to Complete meals.
