Also found that if Black youths Are to regain the rapid and Large enrolment strides they made before the mid-1970s, they must have special attention a in Early schooling when they get ready to decide whether to go to College and once they Are there. The study titled a trends in pos secondary enrolment of minorities a was aimed at clarifying a seemingly inconsistent research results about minority College enrolment author and Rand researcher Daniel Koretz said. Some have seen a decline in Black enrolment and attribute it to an array of social and economic problems that especially affect Young Black males. Other surveys and research data have failed to detect any such trend. In fact according to Koretz a the trend in the total number of Black male students of All Ages is simply  the most striking change in College enrolment rates Over the past 15 years occurred among White women the Only group that has been enrolling in College at a continuously rising rate. The study found that Black youths after increasing their numbers rapidly on College campuses in the years prior to the mid-70s, Are currently stuck on an a extended College Entrance  the proportion of All 18 to 24-year-old Blacks in College is currently the same a 20 to 22 percent a As it was in the mid-70s, with the rate for men remaining steady and rate for women one or two percentage Points higher. What is discouraging the study said is that More Blacks Are graduating from High school. Despite that the proportion of Young Black High school graduates in College has dropped 3 percentage Points since the mid70s. Several factors apparently contribute to the failure of Black High school graduates a though better prepared than in Early years a to enrol in College. For one ethnic differences in academic performance Are still quite Large though strides have been made the study said. Also not enough attention is being paid to difficulties facing minority students before often Well before they get ready to enter College. In addition not enough information is known about Why Black High school students chose or chose not to attend College. A what happens to these a Abler minority students a Koretz asked. A do they just give up is College too expensive we just done to know enough about the decisions these kids Are  Koretz said some colleges and universities Are not making the same efforts at minority recruitment that they did prior to 1975, when Black enrolment began leveling off. Bears have been wandering into work Camps sniffing around for garbage raiding dumpsters and generally taking a Chance on human confrontations in looking for a free meal.
