To avoid offending the Host nations strict guidelines allowing Only Muslim now i done to know Why Bush waited to Pray until he was 12 Miles offshore but i seriously doubt it was for fear of offending the saudis. You do a disservice to your readers by suggesting that saudis would be offended by a Christian worship service. I work closely with saudi officers Here in saudi Arabia and the Yare Well aware of the fact that Many of us worship according to our conscience. So far no one is offended. Indeed a worser offence is to not worship god at All. I suggest there Are Many christians who will agree. Of greater interest to the muslims is whether one has Faith at All. Rather than concentrating on the difference Between faiths christians muslims and jews would do Well to admit their similarities. And the stars and stripes would do us All a favor with fewer uneducated off the cuff remarks about islam and a Little More understanding. It a maj. C. King operation desert storm a everybody affected by deployment i write this letter in regards to every american swept by the winds of the latest storm operation desert storm this is not written to criticize or Challenge the views of past writers who have shared their thoughts and feelings with us through your paper. The intent is to shed some Light on the common ground we All share. From the service member to the families All our lives in some Way have been affected by this deployment. As a result we Are faced with Many hardships we Are not accustomed to. As Loving and caring people there is a tendency to become bitter toward the current administration and even ourselves. When we have no control Over our lives this is understandable. The reason for our being Here varies in Many forms. As in anything we do the True reasons lie within our hearts Only by accepting this May we have a better understanding of Why. S. Our future holds Many unknowns. At this time it is impossible to predict the outcome. As time passes each Day will become a memory. What we choose to hold in them we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. Always remember that everything that takes place Here will be shared by Many. No one will have to face it alone. A a a a a a a a. A a a a a a sgt. William r. Farrier Iii operation desert storm a writer says wrong message being sent i would like to address the Issue of reduction in forces because i feel that mixed signals Are being Given. If reduction is a fact and we do indeed need to scale Down our troops then Good hard working dedicated people will need to be relieved from Active duty along with those soldiers who done to quite make the Grade. Here is my complaint Why does Gen. Crosbie e. Saint say a a it a like picking the first string on a basketball team Only the Best will be if the number to be reduced is accurate and its staggering this will affect some of those on the a first does no to Gen. Saint realize what he is implying a Soldier appreciates support from Home while the powerful and the politicians jockey for position in the persian Gulf crisis while the Media hypes its news and while the Good and bad get weighed something very significant is happening. Americans across the nation Are reaching out and touching those of us who have been put Between the Hammer and Anvil. Through letters and packages american people Are supporting us in ways no speech from a general or politician can. Children in school mothers fathers professional people people who have been through this before a whole Cross Section of America is helping to ease the Strain of people they done to even know. Joys and sorrows Are being shared by service people and civilians together. Americans Are helping americans in All letters to the editor must contain the full printed name and address of the writer and must be signed. We do not read unsigned letters but we will withhold your name on request. All letters Are subject to editing. We now have people running scared wondering if they Are Good enough when in actuality that is not the Issue. This also sends a message loud and Clear to the outside world that a you make it in the military you weren to the Best. Why should i hire the Issue Here is we have to Cut Back and Many top Quality soldiers will have to get out. It would make More sense if we were told that. It makes no sense when soldiers get Good ears and oers even top Block ratings a in be seen them and then Are told you re not Good and i done to want my next employer to hear that either. A name and location withheld if there a any Good that can come out of this mess it May very Well be the close Bonds we Are establishing through a any service member our thanks done to begin to convey what americans Back Home have done.
