The chaplain also from bad Kreuz Nach was t trying to Comfort Hamilton. Maybe it was the other Way around. Lindsay too had just finished the Marathon and was doing his share of the panting. He came across the finish line 40 minutes behind Hamilton with a time of 3 44 49. A Veteran of the Berlin and Frankfurt marathons Lindsay of the 708th support in said he chooses to put himself through the 26-mile test because Quot it s an unbelievable  pointing out the finer Points of the race Lindsay said Quot it was an excellent course. There were plenty of  i while All the Marathon finishers tried to catch their breath Dennis Sherrod of the Wurzburg running and sports club said Quot i m going to catch up with my age i  44 and director of the Leighton Barracks education Center in Wurzburg has been a die hard Runne for 14 years and sunday s Fulda Marathon was the 41st that he has run. He was number 50 across the finish line with a time of 3 35 14, Deborah Snowberger another member of the our Zebu running and sports club was the first woman to Cross f finish line. She nabbed first place in the women a category in last year s Fulda Marathon something she did not expect to do this year. Quot i did t even plan on running the Marathon Quot Snowberger said. But she finished ahead of All the other female runners and 39th Overall with a time of 3 32 03 0 of that despite having to take her socks off just after the t8-mile Mark because her feet started to Blister. Snowberger was not particularly pleased with her time i wish i could say i trained and worked out for this a she said. Quot i did t put enough Effort in it but winning is  the female Victor was reclining in a Captain s chair in a Van after the race. Next to her was fellow runner Phyllis Johnson of the 493rd Supply and service co in Wurzburg. Johnson came in fourth among the female runners with a time of 3 52 03. She said she runs every Day and put her body through the trauma of a Marathon Quot just for the thrill of doing it. It s like a  she managed to shave her time from last years Marathon and Hopes to Cut an hour off her time in her next 26-Miler, Quot i ran 4 10 last year and 3 52 this year so i was. Very pleased with that. I Hope to get into the twos next  not everyone ran the 26.2 Miles sunday. Some opted for the 14th annual cavalry half Marathon and about 900 participated As members of running teams in the Blackhorse Challenge involving groups of runners who ran together for 13.1 Miles. All counted there were More than 1,800 people running or 3,600 individual sneakers pounding the pavement. And there were participants who never took an athletic step some supported runners by staffing water stations others simply stood along Fulda s streets clapping and cheering As each group of runners passed.
