By the end of the 1991-92 school year which began monday enrolments in department of defense dependents schools in Germany alone Are expected to drop significantly because of the ongoing draw Down. The school year began with about 80,000 pupils in the system in Germany Down from last years 90,000, officials said. Mannheim May be one of the few exceptions for this year. It began school with 1,750 in its elementary grades. A i done to think we Are going to lose children fast a said principal Joan Wilcox. What they have Felt is the effect from schools that closed last year she said. A we have gotten new teachers from schools that closed. Some Are sad at the Prospect of leaving and having to make new friends but some Are just Happy to be Back at school. A you have to say goodbye to everybody and go to a new school in the states and make new friends a Sicley said. A but you want to come Back because your old friends Are Here and you love them. Seventh grader Nicole Mason May or May not be completing her Junior High school years in Baum older. A my dad might be going to the states a said Nicole with a shrug. She is a student at the school for the first time this year. If her family moves Nicole said she would be a Kinda upset. In be met a lot of people and id be leaving  while Many students shared the uncertainty of whether the 1991-92 school year would be their last overseas others knew where they would be this time next year. Gibson a returning eighth grader knows that his time at Baum older is Short too. Stefan said his family is moving to the states sometime around october and he is a looking Forward to it a kind  meanwhile Stefan Hopes to make his last months in Germany Good ones. According to the first Days enrolment figures the High school has 379 students and the Junior highs seventh and eighth grades have 342 pupils.  say that this years enrolment is up from last years. Students starting their first school year at Naples High school Are excited about their academic careers in Europe.
