To reach Lavenham from Bury St. Edmunds go South Melford Hall is part of the National Trust and is open to the Public on sundays on a-134 and turn left on a-1141 at Stanningfield. To reach Long Melford from Bury St. Edmunds take a-1 34 straight to the town. If you plan to go to Lavenham after visiting Long Melford travel North on the a-1 34 Lor a couple of Miles and signs will direct you on a very narrow Side Road leading to Lavenham.
