The panel was appointed oct. 4 by William h. Mobley University president after several women complained that they had suffered abuse from male cadets who resent their presence in the corps. On wednesday one male Cadet was charged with assault by the Brazos county District attorneys office. He was accused of kicking a female Cadet after she was publicly identified As one of those making the complaints. The corps is structured like a military unit with student officers supervising other cadets. Membership in the corps is obligatory for any student participating in the University a Reserve officer training corps programs. Texas a amp a located in College station provides More commissioned officers to the armed services than any institution except the service academies. In a report issued thursday the panel concluded that a facts of harassment and discrimination against female cadets have taken  the panel suggested improved procedures to hear grievances from women Taining to eliminate attitudes that Lead to harassment and increased supervision by staff members. Noting that Cadet leaders of the corps had admitted harassment the panel stated Quot in our View these acts Are much More pervasive than statements by corps leaders would indicate.
