Toth who revived the Frankfurt football program during a three year stint was promoted to education program manager at that school last november and George who has been a very successful football coach at Fulda the past seven years has been transferred to Frankfurt where he will be track and Field coach As Well As football coach. George was offered a and accepted a the Frankfurt Job in december but the Transfer depended upon approval from Dodds Germany officials. It was granted during the holidays. A we Are really pleased to get Marcus George at Frankfurt a said Siemaszko. A the school will Benefit two ways. Charlie Toth has the qualifications to become an outstanding admin George Istratov and Marcus George is a very Fine coach who will be a splendid addition to our staff. Marcus will swing right into coaching activities. He will take Over As head track and Field coach this  Frankfurt was a perennial Power in the 1970s and Early 1980s, but it fell upon hard times until Toth came upon the scene in 1989. Toth chalked up an 188 record during his Frankfurt tenure taking the eagles to the playoffs the last two years. His 1991 squad went 9-1, losing the big schools playoff championship to Wiesbaden 18-16 in overtime. Toth coached football at Giessen for three years racking up a 24-2-1 record in route to Small schools championships in 1986 and 1987 following a loss to International school of Brussels in the 1985 title game. That was Giessen a first year As a High school and the Griffins earned instant prestige by winning their first eight games. Naturally Toth was the 1985 stars and stripes coach of the year. Although George really enjoyed his seven years at Fulda he is ready to make the move to Frankfurt. A i am really excited about going to Frankfurt a he said tuesday. A it is an Opportunity to coach in the big leagues in Dodds. I will have a larger Pool of Young men to work with and it will be quite a Challenge. Following Charlie is Challenge enough but coaching against the sullivans and the schwartzers makes it even More interesting. In a looking Forward to the  editors note Wurzburg a John Sullivan and Wiesbaden a Darryl Schwartz have been highly successful aaa mentors during the last decade George too has enjoyed tremendous Success on the Gridiron winning the Small schools title a record setting three straight times in 1988, 1989 and 1990. He was 26-2 those three years and compiled a 42-17 seven year record at Fulda. He too was an a amps coach of the year claiming the accolade following the 1990 Campaign when the Falcons went 100. Fulda ran up 17 straight wins during its title runs. A Fulda is a rather Small school but i really enjoyed coaching there a George said. A i was fortunate in that i had quite a few Good athletes who were committed to Success. Eight Fulda players were chosen stars and stripes All Europe. I Naa a great Bunch of kids there a and having Quality athletes helps no matter where you coach. A i also had a great assistant coach in Gary Feletar and he will continue to have a Quality program at Fulda. He has established a reputation Tor his outstanding track and Field programs and that Quality will carry Over into his football program a George added. Fulda principal Bruce Davis echoed Georges appraisal of Feletar. A of course Well miss Marcus because he a done an excellent Job at Fulda High school a Davis said. A but we have been blessed by having one of the Best assistant coaches around in Gary Feletar and i believe he will carry on the winning Fulda  a a its Back to the old grind for Dodds athletes following layoffs for the holidays. The 1992 portion of the activities began tuesday night As the big schools basketball teams resumed their Competition. Some More aaa and a action is scheduled for Friday and the Small schools rejoin the action that night under their Friday saturday format. Wrestlers also come Back to the Mats saturday. The Dodds Winter sports program continues through february when All the champions will have been determined. The Central european wrestling tournament and the . Basketball and wrestling championships Are the first events on the championship Agenda. The be mat finals Are feb. 14-15 at Wiesbaden the . Wrestling finals Are a one Day feb. 15 Lakenheath happening and the . Basketball finals run feb. 13-15 at Alconbury. The big schools and Small schools finals take place the following weekend at Mannheim and i3aumholder, respectively. The big schools play under a single elimination format feb. 19-22 the Small schools have two qualifying tournaments with the top four teams from each advancing to the finals feb. 20-22.�?� a a player of the week honors for the second week of the season when Ole prep pickings sneaked away for a Florida vacation go to Ramstein Smika Brown and Baum older a Quentin Ferguson. Ramstein lost both its games against Wiesbaden and Heidelberg but Brown was dominating with 32 and 27 Points respectively in 61-59 and 60-56 setbacks.
