S Why does the volume seem louder during commercials than during regular programming it s not my to set because other people complain too. At this has been a consumer complaint so Long that it has attained the status of Urban legend. Here s the official answer As passed along to a a from the american association of advertising agencies in new York which in turn got it from new Day s aug. 1 4, 1 988, article and now a word from our sponsor. Though the level of sound in some commercials makes you lunge for the Remote control the ads Are not truly louder than the programs. Commercial producers do try to maximize each sound element however so that the Okeover music and sound effects together create a very full audio track. Also program sound level vary More wide so that commercial sound mixed at a continuously High level May seem louder by contrast 1 if Princess Diana divorces Prince Charles will she maintain the title of Princess a any question about divorce is hypothetical said a spokeswoman for the British embassy in Washington. Titles dearly Are a matter for their Royal High Nesses to consider if and a More practical assessment comes from Robin Prestage press officer for the British tourist authority in new York. His private opinion my thought is that Princess Diana can t retain the title if she is no longer married to Prince Charles. She s Only a Princess because she is married to a Prince so if she ceases to be married to him she would cease to be a Princess / another Factor comes into play Prestage pointed out if Prince Carles does divorce her and then marries again his new wife would be the Princess of Wales and you could t have two princesses of Wales now could you Princess Anne divorced Captain Mark Phillips but she was a Princess in her own right not by marriage so she is still called a Queen Elizabeth ii probably will have the final say on Diana s title. If i divorces is she still a Princess Market needs to apply to the uniform code Council in Dayton Ohio for a Universal product code commonly called a bar code. Deer Hunters helping fight hunger by Larryred Scripps Howard news service America s Deer Hunters Are helping to put meat on the table of their neighbors. In Mississippi it is known As Mississippi sportsmen against hunger. In Tennessee it s called Hunters for the hungry. Both programs like others in the states have the same objective encourage Deer Hunters to donate Venison to food Banks soup kitchens and other charitable agencies. It s a Way for us As Hunters to do something positive at a time when Hunting is under attack and at the same time do something Good for people in need said Logan Russell of Jackson who along with Bob Wilson founded Mississippi s sportsmen against hunger program two years ago. Most Hunter donor systems follow the same guidelines Volunteer Hunters donate two pounds or More of Venison to participating meat processors who then give the meat to a food Bank or other state Agency for distribution to needy families according to state health regulations. Since it began in August 1992, the Mississippi program has become one of the nation s most successful. Hunters donated about 10,000 pounds of Venison in 1992 25,000 pounds fast year and donated 5,000. Pounds in the Earry stages of the 1994 season. The program continues to grow More rapidly than we Ever expected said Russell 33, an avid outdoors Man. We knew we had a Good idea from the get go our state has one of the nation s largest Deer herds 2.7 million and one of the highest malnutrition rates for children. It s Only logical that we take advantage of one of our state resources to help people in about 5,000 pounds of Venison were donated to Tennessee s Hunters for the hungry program in 19.93, a disappointing figure considering that 190,000 Tennessee Hunters killed a record 139,832 Deer. That 5,000 pounds is a figure that we Hope to build on said Ann Murray executive director of the Nashville based Tennessee conservation league which helps coordinate the Hunters for the hungry program. On average a 125-Pound Deer will yield about 40 to 50 pounds of meat processors say. Based on that formula Tennessee Hunters could donate two pounds of Venison apiece keep the rest for themselves and give More about 380,000 pounds to the needy. Murray said 29 processors Are involved in the Tennessee program and More May join. It s not Only Good forthe Hunters but it s Good business for us said processor Glenn Hilliard of Moscow. Tenn. To creates a Good business relationship Between the Hunter and the processor. And it can t help but improve relations Between the Hunter and Venison donated by Hunters is helping feed the hungry.
