The diesel training is being conducted at the rcom Engineer depot and the refrigeration course is at Plant. Tengan refrigeration the school programs Are under the direction of capt b. F. O Connell troops and training officer of the rcom staff Engineer. Instructions Are carried on by a civilian team from the Cleveland general motors division in diesel Generator mechanics and a team from the Philco corporation in refrigeration mechanics. At the rcom Engineer de pot the school is framing 23 Engineer Soldier students in the 10-week diesel mechanics course and 13 Ryukyu an natives in diesel Generator operation. The instructions Are carried on in on the Job training supplemented by eight hours of classrooms a week. Due to the practical value of the instructions and the out standing attention to duty by the students it was possible to graduate three members of the 526th Engineer maintenance detachment at an Early Date. The men were immediately placed in key jobs. At the Tengan refrigeration Plant the 14-week refrigeration course is attended by sol Diers from units All Over the Island who after completion of training will go Back to their units and maintain their respective unit refrigeration. In addition to the course offered by the school there is a program to train natives in refrigeration mechanics. Men graduating from the courses offered by both schools Are Given certificates of Satis factory completion of the course attended.
