Authorities at the White Pietermaritzburg Campus of Natal University banned open air meetings shortly before a scheduled memorial service and protest posters appeared on the main Gates. Students at Johannesburg s White Witwatersrand University planned rallies for Friday. Biko 30, was widely regarded As one of the most influential Black leaders in South Africa and As founder of the Black consciousness movement.
