Seniors Golf championship saturday beat ing defending Champion Lew Oehmig of Lookout Mountain Tenn., 4-and-3, in a steady rain at the Salem country club. It was the second championship for Morey who won in 1974 when he also beat Oehmig in the final. Oehmig who won in 1972 and 1976, was trying to become the first Man to win three championships. The tournament is for golfers 55 and older. Morey is 58, and Oehmig 61. Saturday s match turned on the ninth Hole. Morey went into it 2-up and hit a wedge shot out of heavy rough in front of the Green. The Ball hit the pin and dropped about one foot from the Hole. Morey made Par and Oehmig three putted to put Morey 3-up after the first nine. Morey went five up winning the 12th and 13th holes with birdies but Oehmig Cut the margin to four by sinking a 25-foot putt for a Birdie on the 14th. The match ended on the 15th Hole which was halved.
