Leonard Hamilton the assistant basketball coach at the University of Kentucky was selected tuesday As the new basketball coach at Oklahoma state University. Athletic director Myron Roderick said Hamilton was chosen to replace Paul Hansen who was told last month that his contract would not be renewed. Hamilton 37, has coached at the University of Kentucky since 1974. Mcdougal dismissed Dekalb 111. Northern Illinois University has dismissed John Mcdougal As head basketball coach and says it is beginning a nationwide search for his successor. Mcdougal was relieved of his duties and offered reassignment in the athletic department by Robert. J. Brigham Spe Cial assistant to the president. Mcdougal 61, had a record of 136 141 in his 10 seasons at Northern. His team this year was 15-12 before being upset in the mid american conference postseason tournament by Toledo.
