Mobile teams do collect blood would be donor told this letter is for people like me who really want to give blood and to those whorish to receive blood. I would like to know Why there in t a Well established blood donation program in Neucom. At my previous Post fort Hua Chuca Ariz a red Cross Bloodmobile came Down from Tucson and set up every two months which is the minimum Allowa ble time Between donations. I began to do Nate at their every visit and looked Forward to the next one. However since arriving in Europe 15 months ago i have not donated once. I cannot speak for other military communities but people in Worms must go to Hei Delberg to donate. I am not willing to drive to Heidelberg to donate blood. I feel it is dangerous to do so. After giving blood the possibility of dizziness or fainting exists. Such an incident on the autobahn could be fatal. My question is Why in t there a system of Bloodmobile or something similar going to the military communities to get blood i be heard that there was such a set up. If so Why has it ceased i m willing to give my blood. I think those who want it should be willing to command get it. Douglas l. Rasmussen Worms Germany editor s note we received two replies to this letter. The first is from Narce Caliva managing director european area american red Cross the american red Cross does not have the same full blood program overseas that it does in the United states where arc provides half the nation s blood Supply. Overseas blood services for the armed forces Are coordinated by the Usa eur blood Bank headquartered at Lan Stuhl. However arc wholeheartedly supports the military s efforts which Benefit the entire Dod network in Europe. In fact we urge our local staff and volunteers to recruit workers to assist in blood drawings to the extent red Cross volunteers Are available and blood Bank officials desire. We encourage everyone to support the blood Bank by being donors. There is still no substitute for human blood and we can verify that the continuing need remain genuine. The second reply is from maj. She criticizes unattractive hairdos i have to agree with a recent letter on How casually we seem to Wear our uni form. The letter reminded me about one of my biggest gripes female members who have Long hair and Don t know How to properly Wear it up. Sure it s within legs but most of these guilty female members seem to forget that they have a military image to uphold. Hair that is simply thrown on the head and pinned ends up looking very unattractive and detracts from the Overall professional military look. I suggest to either Wear it Short or Experiment with some new styles. A Little practice goes a Long Way. If you see someone with a Nice hairstyle and you would like to Wear your hair in a similar Way Stop them and ask them How they do it. Don t feel embarrassed about asking because they la feel flattered that you noticed. If Reading this you laugh and say where does she get the time in the morn ing to mess with her hair i make time if i m going to have Long hair.
