Miller succeeds air Force maj. Gen. Or William h. Greendyke who was relieved feb. 27 after he lost the Confidence of defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger. Since then the acting Neucom surgeon has been  maj. Gen. Or Frank led Ford jr., the 7th medical come commander. From july 1967 to july 1968, Miller served As chief of Medicine at the 12th air Force Hospital at Cam Ranh Bay Vietnam.
