Budd Dwyer the Penn Sylvania stale treasurer who committed suicide during a televised news con Terence was eulogized saturday by his widow As a hero at a memorial sen ice attended by about 500 mourners. He fell shamed and like a failure. But Budd was not a failure Budd was a hero Joanne Dwyer told friends and relatives at All saints episcopal Church. Dwyer shot himself thursday with a .357-Calibcr magnum pistol before television cameras and horrified aides and reporters. He was 47. The two term Republican treasurer was 10 have been sentenced Friday for a Federal bribery conviction. He faced up to 55 years in prison. Mrs. Dwyer said she still believes her husband was innocent of the charges on which he was convicted last month. She said his Trust in people made him vulnerable and in part led to his conviction. He trusted everyone and not everyone was Hon est she said he Felt the system for which he worked All his life betrayed  at the news conference where he ended his life Dwyer repeatedly denied his guilt and called for re forms of the judicial system.
