I wanted to come in and see if i can do the things you have to do to be productive he said. Nothing i be done has changed my mind about it. I think i can be a productive the of season was particularly difficult because Newsome was plagued by doubts about playing one More sea son. When i had doubts i worked out harder he said. I knew i was up against father time. Every morning when i woke up father time was right there staring me in the face. So i went after him every Day. I worked out As hard As i have in maybe five six seven years getting myself pre pared for this training Camp because i want to be a part of this football Newsome s biggest motivation is the same one that s pushing All of the Browns veterans three straight heart breaking losses in the playoffs. Cleveland lost narrowly at Miami in the playoffs in 1985 and has fallen to Denver in the acc championship game each of the past two years. You motivate yourself when you get Down and tired. You Start trying to find excuses and say Well i should quit but then you think Well if i give a Little bit More maybe there won t be another Denver this time " Newsome said. A first round draft pick out of Ala Bama in 1978, Newsome wants to Cap Ture one More time the feeling he had in 1980, when he was Young the Browns were contenders and All was right in his world.
