We aide provide Over 90 percent of the hands on care for nursing Home residents. Yet the pay we Start with is slightly Over minimum wage. I Hope you will print the enclosed piece. Just a nurse s aide someone asked what i did fora living. I said i m a nurse s aide in a nursing  the per son made a sour face and signed of lord a lot of people think it s an awful Job. Not for Al the Money in the world is what one of my friends said. Well believe it or not there is something special about this Job. People really depend on me. I not Only care for them i care about them As Well. Being a nurse s aide is not glamorous. There Are Many aspects of the daily routine that Are demanding and physically difficult. But i take Pride in my  is so much to learn. I try to improve my skills every Day. Things do get hectic. Sometimes All the Cal Bells seem to go off at once. Family members ask me to do extra things that take time. I do my Best to accommodate them but sometimes it just in t possible. My work is the kind that Many sons and daughter scan t do or won t do yet somebody must take care of the sick and the old. So i Bathe and Shower my patients. I want them to be fresh and clean. I comb and Brush their hair. I want them to look Nice. Their hand sometimes shake so i have to Cut their food and help them to eat. I want them to get the proper nourish ment. Now do you understand Why my Job is important even though some folks look Down on a nurse s aide these elderly people really depend on me. Being therefor them makes me feel very special. They both work and i baby sit their children who Are 1 and2 years old. I Don t have a room of my own or even a Dresser. Sleep on the floor in the baby s room and am living out of a Box and suitcases. They won t let me have a key to the apartment an insist that i be in by 10 . When i go out on Friday nights. My life is so empty and i m beginning to feel Worth less. It saddens me that someone could have such Low self esteem As trend his life. People end their lives for various reasons family problems divorce marital problems financial debts a Girlfriend or Boyfriend. I m sure the reasons could Goon and on. Regardless no reason problem or worry is Worth the Cost of a life. If your life or problems Are at a Point where Youcan t handle them go and seek professional help. Let someone help you. Sometimes just talking your prob lems Over with someone you la realize things Aren t Soba after All. If you re convinced suicide will be the end to All problems you re wrong. If you succeed in ending you life it is Over for you but not for your family or friends. If recycling is important then people have to be made to be responsible for sorting their trash. It seems that the germans Are trained to be neater than americans but they Are also responsible for what trash goes in their separate containers. A colleague of my husband says her Landlady goes through her trash to be sure it s sorted correctly. If each family in military housing areas had its own trash containers and was liable for fines for mixing recyclable materials and garbage i would expect to see a considerable Rise in the Success rate of recycling. Some people might object to a proliferation of trash containers but the germans manage somehow. I m a civilian family member. I d love to have the benefits of military housing. Still i see Many military families take those benefits for granted no conserving of electricity or even keeping their Homes clean. They Don t have to they re not held responsible in the Way that most affects people financially. I read of a mock electric Bill to encourage Conser vation of electricity. It might help but not like a real Bill or fines for excessive use. Given human nature Only a few of us will income Niece ourselves for others Benefit.
