This body must have the authority to promptly actin the Case of permit violations and if safety is endangered Steinhoff said. Defense minister Rupert Scholz had asked Steinhof to form the four person commission to make suggestions on air show controls after the Ramstein crash. Steinhoff himself was badly burned in a world War ii crash while flying for the German Luftwaffe. He was head of the West German air Force in the late 1960s. Defense ministry officials say the commission s suggestions will be discussed with the country s nato allies. A . Embassy spokesman in Bonn said he comment on the commission s report.
