The Dow Jones Industrial average which cased 3.75 Friday closed the week at 2235.36. For the week the Blue Chip Index gained 9.29 Points. Broader Market indicators also Rose. The new York Stock Exchange Compo site Index climbed 1.58 to 161.16, while Standard & poor s 500-Stock Index advanced 2.76 to close the week at 286.63. Advances led declines 1,117-728 among the 2,157 issues traded. Big Board volume was 806,824,480 shares investor s guide by Bill Doyle q. On monday and tuesday buyers headed for the Side lines prior to the release of the Trade data. They returned there Friday when the Dollar weakened after its midweek rally. Analysts said the occasional sell offs were not cause for concern As they Al Lowed the Market to consolidate its re cent Advance. Analysts predicted the Market would continue its recent rally for at least an other few weeks fuelled by institutions with Large Cash reserves. On the trading floor Texas Eastern was the most Active Issue soaring 17 to 47 a. On tuesday coastal corp. Launched a $42-a-share, or $2.6 billion takeover bid for Texas Eastern.
