However Bonn s nato envoy Hans Friedrich von Ploetz told the Munich based Sii Deutsche Zeitung on saturday that Alliance officials in Brussels Only recommended that Worner not testify in his capacity As nato chief. But instead he sent a letter in English to the parliamentary committee conduct ing the hearings informing them that twas nato policy that its employees not appear before member nation parliaments to answer questions. The answer brought Sharp responses of anger and disbelief from parliament members. Worner responded to criticism that the letter was written in English by say ing that a German version was also attached. Worner said the letter was drafted i English because it is nato s official Lan Guage. West German envoys leave Kabul As fears Over soviet pullout grow Kabul Afghanistan a West German diplomats left Kabul on sat urday As concern mounted Over an eco nomic blockade and violence in the Capi Tal when soviet troops withdraw. In Bonn the foreign ministry con firmed that it had ordered its diplomats to leave Kabul.
