However just 2 percent of fifth graders and 4 percent of sixth graders said they actually had been offered drugs such As marijuana. Eight percent of fifth graders and 14 percent of sixth graders said they had been offered alcoholic beverages. More than half of the students were Able to correctly describe cocaine crack and marijuana although the question did not ask if their knowledge was from classroom education or personal experience. Students overwhelmingly expressed negative attitudes toward trying or using marijuana and other drugs. They also described the behaviour of people on drugs in negative terms a 30 percent thought drug users act a a weird and 14 percent said they seem  one third of the students said they probably will have tried alcohol at least once by the time they enter High school 21 percent expected to Sample smoking by that time and 7 percent reported they probably will have dabbled in drugs at least once. The interviews revealed peer pressure plays a role in a child a use of drugs or alcohol.
