Some of the French resorts Val d Lefere tines and Les trois Valines the 3 Valley for example Are linked to one another by lifts opening up Miles and Miles of ski terrain. You can ski for Days and never ski the same run twice. For Gung to skiers French resorts Are hard to beat. For the half hearted those who prefer mixing skiing with lounging in a Thermal Pool or browsing through shop after shop resorts in Austria and Switzerland Are better bet. Mountain villages in Switzerland and Austria take the prize for  and old world Charm. These Are the storybook towns of the postcards with streets of quaint chalets. Many of the towns Are ancient and existed Long before lifts were installed on their mountains and skiers invaded. Through the years As skiing became popular the towns expanded As did the number of Winter guests. Some Swiss resorts such As St. Moritz and a stand acquired big names and big Money among their clientele. They continue to be the Winter playground of the Jet set. Some of the austrian towns such As bad Stein were primarily spa towns with elegant hotels catering to those who came to take the Waters and soak in the therapeutic Mineral Springs. The wonderful hotels and the healthy Waters Are still there a along with a network of ski slopes. In both countries Many resorts have expanded their ski terrain and lift systems to connect with those of nearby resorts. Austria s Arlberg Region with the connecting slopes of St. Anton and St. Christoph and Switzerland s Davos Kloster area Are examples. In both countries you will find old wooden huts on the slopes places Rich in atmosphere where it s a Delight to Stop for a Coffee or Clu Wein. Italy is Sun splashed slopes and Good local wine.
