Their secretaries and division chiefs Are also losing their jobs. Other positions vary from social worker to Cook and electrician Linkmann said. Although the plan Calls for 142 jobs to be eliminated the merger will not necessarily throw 142 people out of work. Some will be Able to Transfer to new jobs. There Are 290 Job vacancies in Mannheim and Worms Scott said. And some of the positions targeted for elimination Are also vacant. These vacancies and other factors prevented the civilian personnel officials from providing an exact number wednesday of How Many people will need new jobs As a result of the merger Scott said. In their search to find jobs for the workers officials will compare the employees qualifications with skills needed to fill vacancies.
