The former Captain in the 55th Aero medical Airlift so had Good reason to feel that Way. It was the second time in a week he had been offered a civilian position Only to have it withdrawn. Meadows finally visited Robert Mccutcheon chief of morale welfare and recreation at Rhein main a and said he was told a if you re not Good enough for the air Force you re not Good enough for until oct. 15, the c-9 Pilot had been serving in the Rhein main command Post and had two years remaining in the air Force. His credentials were impressive a an honors graduate of Embry Riddle aeronautical University in Florida and one year of Law school at St. Louts University. Flying was his life. Eventually head planned on wearing the wings of one of the major airlines. But that dream crash landed. His one night stand with an enlisted woman led him to resign his commission. And he holds his former commander it. Col. Maurice Roy responsible for making his Case Public and hurting his chances in the civilian Job Market. Roy would not comment on the Case saying Only that a emr. Meadows has an obvious desire for privacy in these Meadows career problems began april 13 when Security police while investigating a noise complaint discovered him and a married airman in a room at the Rhein main hotel. The woman later acknowledged that she and Meadows had sex. Both had been drinking. Meadows admitted that the incident took place but said it was a onetime occurrence. Fraternization Between officers and enlisted personnel is forbidden by the uniform code for military Justice. Meadows said the Rule often is overlooked by both officers and commanders and is selectively enforced. In Meadows Case the woman worked with him at the command Post but he was not her rating official. Meadows was Given an article 15, a non judicial punishment for a minor offence under the military Justice code and ordered to forfeit two months pay amounting to $2,422. The Fine was later reduced to $1,400. Meadows said he resigned Only because Roy had initiated an administrative discharge action that could have led to a less than honorable discharge. Meadows submitted his resignation june 4 in Hopes of cutting off roys move and receiving an honorable discharge. To his dismay he was Given a general discharge on oct. 15. Meadows said he was tentatively hired by both supervisors. The official decision against employing Meadows was made by Mccutcheon. A i decided not to hire him a Mccutcheon said through a Rhein main spokesman. Mccutcheon also said he did not recall telling Meadows that his service record made him unsuitable for mar. Meadows blames Roy for Many of his troubles. Meadows said someone from the United states telephoned Roy giving him unrelated and false information about Meadows personal life. Meadows said that Roy let hearsay influence his decisions and that Roy told two persons that these personal matters a Cloud the Meadows alleges that Roy on May 3, told his military defense attorney that he was unfit to be an officer or Pilot in the air Force. A my commander said specifically he did not want me to Fly for a major airline and wanted me out with a less than honorable discharge a Meadows said. A now they re trying to Block me from getting a $5.50-an-hour Job on the base while still in the air Force Meadows filed a grievance under article 138 of the uniform code of military Justice. The procedure called complaint of wrongs is available to All service members who believe they have been wronged by their commanding officers. In his complaint Meadows maintained that Roy overstepped his authority As Squadron commander and he asked that his discharge be upgraded to honorable. His grievance is under consideration. Meadows said officials need to weigh five years of impeccable service against a one time incident. A something like this is rare a he said.
