The next Day we saw one of the prettiest towns in Germany Flensburg. It sits directly on the danish Border and boasts a Long pedestrian zone of impeccably restored buildings in a wide variety of architectural styles. It is packed with interesting shops restaurants cafes and bistros and has a surprisingly sophisticated feel. Find this District by walking from the Harbor through one of the Many Small Cobblestone alleys also crammed with shops and eateries that intersect the main walking Street. The Harbor surrounded by Renaissance buildings is full of old fashioned three masted sailboats of polished Wood. Squint your eyes and you May just see Columbus standing on deck. Along the waterfront artists sketch the Graceful vessels while swans Glide lazily by and gulls Circle overhead. Flensburg  kind of town where one could linger but of course we did not. We were off to nearby clucks Burg Castle. Glucksberg is a gleaming White Castle built in the Middle of a Lake. You can sink into comfortable chairs in a sunlit room furnished with Antiques and enjoy a slice of Glucksberg torte a a marvelous concoction of Cream raisins and rum a for 3 Marks $2. On the last morning As we packed our Dew covered the brisk air was freshened with a hint of the sea. Our Landlady thanked us warmly for our visit invited us Back then stood in the doorway and waved until we were out of sight.
