Pam Martin will be doing Security detail at the Keyes building aside Campbell Barracks in Heidelberg Germany thinking about her first mothers Day. Shell be thinking about her 6-month-old daughter Emily Elisabeth a and How she juggles her army career As a military policewoman with its Odd hours and her urge to spend every waking moment with her baby. Quot Martin 30, is a single Mother. She says that came about by Mutual decision Between her and Emily s father a army staff sergeant. A a a a a a a Martins life is a bit different than when she was growing up in Wrightstown pa., a Small town about 40 Miles North of Philadelphia. Her Mother was always Home while her children were growing up. She remembers her mom taking them to movies theme amusement Parks and for strolls in the Park. A she used to do a lot of things with us a she said. But its different for . A a in a going to have to use my time wisely when in a with Emily. I feel like in a fighting for time with her As it  a Martins assigned to the 529th my co., 5th platoon the unit that provides personal Security for the commander of the army in Europe. The Keyes building is where High level meetings take place. Martins duty schedule requires her to work four Day shifts four swings and four Midnight shifts each an eight hour shift. Then she gets four Days off. On top of that she is required to do physical training daily which As soldiers know can eat up a couple More hours. A a if i went Back to a Road platoon Quot she said a the. Gates on Campbell Barracks and patrols and stuff then id be working fluctuating eight hour 12-hour shifts. A a a. A a a a a a a a then id have overnight ranges id go to the Field for three or four Days at a time. Id rather work steady shift work. I know exactly what my hours arc. There a no Spur of the moment  fortunately she has a Home Day care provider who watches Emily during her varied duty hours she also has a command that is willing to work with her so she can spend As much time with Emily As she  a a a a a a a a. A a a a a a a a. When Martin works Day shift she gets up at 3 30 . To begin her Long Day. A. A i get up about 2vi. Hours Early for work. To get her ready Quot she said of her typical Day. A i get everything done press my bus. A i like to have everything done by the time i Wake her up. I just like to get her up slowly and spend some time with her.�?�. Martin has to leave for work from her Home outside of Heidelberg at 5 45 . To be Able to drop off Emily at the providers House and get to guard mount her morning my formation where instructions Are Given out. When she works swing shift she leaves Emily at the child development Center while she does it so she can spend time with her before work with swings i have it at 11 and regular shift at 2, she said. A instead of running Back and Forth and dumping her off a i hate to put it that Way but i feel that Way when i do that at 10 30,1 done to pick her up until 11 30 at night.
