Also Iraklion personnel were better Able to estimate what was needed to close the base without creating extra materials to dispose of he said. Iraklion a isolation makes it difficult to dispose of excess equipment. At most bases it is a simple matter to Load up a truck and cart off the goods. Small White signs saying a off limits Are tacked up neatly on almost every door. Deserted playgrounds once overflowing with children Are a solemn reminder of what once was. Edwards said one of the most important lessons he Learned from earlier closures is to be flexible especially where people Are concerned. Original plans had called for everyone to Send off household goods in april As base housing closed. Officials reworked the plan to allow families to keep their goods a Little longer. Officials then moved those living off base into on base housing so they have to stay in a hotel for several weeks. When people complained about the impending gym closure officials solicited their concerns a we found out that the big concern was really basketball a which is an outside court anyway a a and free weights a Edwards said.
