This Winter the Armecy forces recreation Center will be concentrating its efforts on its two remaining centers in Europe Garmisch and Berchtesgaden Germany. Its third resort in Germany Chi Emsee has been swapped to the German government in Exchange for funding to upgrade Berchtesgaden facilities specifically the general Walker hotel and the Skytop Lodge. For skiers anxious to Start the season Early arc offers Early Bird special ski weeks at Garmisch nov. 27-dec. 3, dec. 4-10, and 11-17. The programs Cost $129 for five Days of skiing instruction clothing lift pass and equipment. Participants must be registered at one of the arc hotels during the entire week. The most popular program is the downhill ski week package. The programs Start in mid december and end sometime in april depending on Snow conditions. The downhill ski week at Berchtesgaden costs $149, while the one at Garmisch is priced at $189. The difference in Cost Between the two programs is due to two reasons the Cost of lift tickets is considerably higher at Garmisch plus clothing and equipment Are also included in its program the Price of both packages includes five Days of lessons lift passes local transportation a ski race at week s end an awards ceremony and mementos. This season Berchtesgaden will also run a regular series of one Day ski Austria trips to such outstanding resorts As Lachau wag rain and Ober tavern.
