But social Security goes far beyond that Cost of living increases benefits for millions who for one reason or another have not been Able to pay their full share benefits for widows and children medicare disability benefits burial expense payments Etc. Essentially social Security has been a system whereby those of us still at work Are helping finance the retirement of those who have worked. More that any other Agency of government it has helped make retirement a dignified possibility for Mil Lions of americans whose parents had Little Choice but to work until the Day they died. I can t imagine what sort of Price tag you can put on that. Q. Five years ago i bought some Stock in a fast food business. I be received no dividends Ever but i recently was offered a free Sandwich. Will the Stock pay a dividend a. I can t even find the name let alone any data which would serve As a dividend guessing basis. I Don t know about the Sandwich either. Q. As executor of an estate i authorized the Sale of securities. Proceeds did not in clude dividend even though the proceeds were received after the dividend was paid. The Bank officer said the Stock was sold two Days before the sex dividend Date. Why did t the Bank demand the dividends a. Because it had no right to demand them. If the Stock was sold two Days before the sex dividend Date you the seller were not entitled to that dividend regardless of when the proceeds were received or when the dividend was actually paid. Stock sold before the sex Date carries the right to the current dividend with it and the dividend goes to the buyer assuming he holds it at least until the sex Date. Or.
