Korean agents named the two former Kycia directors Kim Hyung Wook who held the position be tween 1963 and 1969, and Lee Hurak who held the Job from 1970 through 1973 were also named a indicted co conspirators. Hanna played a key role in advising Park on which members of Congress should be bribed and How thousands of Dol Lars should be parcelled out to them the indictment said. Bell said Hanna is not cooperating with the investigation. The 30-Page indictment was filled with More than a dozen names of present and former members of Congress who received Money sometimes in the form of Campaign contributions from Park. Asst. Atty. Gen. Benjamin Civiletti said some of those named Are targets of the probe and some Aren t. He declined to say who was in which category. According to the indictment. Park gave $10,000 in november 1971 to the wife of Edwin Edwards then a House member and now governor of Louisiana. A month later Park had one of his employees give $5,000 to Edwards gubernatorial Campaign and in january 1972, Park funnelled another $5,000 to Edwards Campaign. In april 1972, Park had $3,000 in Cash delivered to the Campaign of Jack Miller a former Republican senator from Iowa the indictment said. Later that year Park delivered $1,000 to rep. John Mcfall d-calif., the indictment said. Mcfall appeared throughout the indict ment As the recipient of several payments. To collect the favors he was allegedly buying Park gave Mcfall a draft of a letter addressed to the korean president in february 1973, the indictment said. The letter was to be typed on Mcfall s official stationary and signed by the congressman. The indictment did not identify the Content of that letter nor did it say whether it was actually sent. But about the same time Hanna sent president Park a letter recommending that president Park utilize All of his re sources to influence the actions of Mem Bers of Congress and asserting that ton Sun Park agreed with Hanna s proposal the indictment said. Johnson was listed As receiving $1,000 from Park a few months after Park had Given him the letter to Send to the subcommittee. The indictment listed 33 checks from Park or his Pacific development inc. During 1972 through 1975. The checks ranging in amounts from $200 to $10.000, were listed As overt acts in furtherance of the alleged conspiracy. The list did not show who received each of those checks. Park specifically was charged with giving More than $175,000 to Hanna As pay ment for Hanna s official statements boosting the South korean government and his efforts to promote congressional trips to South Korea and influence his col leagues to assist the Park regime. Hanna also played a key role in arranging for Park s designation As South Korea s agent for Rice sales the indict ment said. Rice Sale bribes with the knowledge and under the direction of the Kycia Park siphoned off part of his Rice Sale commissions to bribe Hanna and other members of the House and Senate the indictment said. Other members of Congress named in the indictment include rep. John Brademas a ind. Park did t charge Brademas the $1,700 Cost of the Campaign fund raising dinner at the Georgetown club which Park owned in May 1972, and Park gave a $2,950 Campaign contribution to Brademas in 1974, the indictment said. Sen. Joseph Montoya . Park gave $3,000 to the . Citizens for Montoya in 1970. These others were listed As receiving 1970 Campaign contributions ranging from $100 to $1,000 from Park.
