Coming Down off the Mountain it began to rain. It continued for the next three Days and Likely was the principal reason for the unsuccessful Hunt of the other american Jaeger Hunter. He did see nine Gams but unfortunately they were All with Young and could not be taken. Proper equipment necessary when Hunting in the Alps be prepared. Your Rifle Rucksack with provisions a Good pair of shoes or boots suitable for Mountain climbing a change of clothes and socks and some Light rain gear. Loden Coats will shed rain and Snow but in a heavy downpour will soak up a great Deal of water. Physical conditioning is essential be it summer or Winter. Not Only is the climb strenuous but you May have to carry the har vested Chamois Back Down the Mountain a task which is a bit easier in the Winter when you can often sled it Down. If you Hunt in november the Snow May be fairly deep which makes going a bit rough not to mention the often narrow and Slippery trails. Remember if you fail to take a Chamois Don t blame the guide. He wants you to shoot otherwise he must guide another Hunter and yet another until the animals Are taken. The  shooting plans of some forestry office s Are quite Large and it is the Jaeger s Hunters responsibility to fulfil the shooting plan. While the Winter Gams is a much better trophy not everyone can have the Opportunity since most of the Chamois must be taken in August and september and into october before snows Force curtailment of Hunting. Up pro Basket Ball player Marvin Barnes wednesday was granted an oct. 14 parole from the Rhode Island adult correctional institutions just in time to rejoin the Detroit pistons for the Start of the 1977-78 Aba season. The 6-foot-10 Forward s release was granted on his first visit to the state parole Board and was welcomed by pistons officials. Barnes was jailed May 16 for break ing state probation by a handgun arrest in Michigan. He will have served five months of a one year sentence for probation violation and will be released under supervision of Mich Igan authorities the Board said. Barnes will miss Aba preseason prac Tice which opens sept. 20, but will be out in time for Detroit s first regular season game against the new York nets at Cobo Arena on oct. 18.Barnes was imprisoned May 16 for breaking probation with a handgun arrest in Michigan. Under Rhode Island Law he was eligible after serving on third four months of his sentence. In Detroit Piston general manager Bob Kauffman said he was terribly disappointed that Barnes was not Given his re Quested sept. 16 parole  do however appreciate the consideration the parole Board has Given.
