Akkerhuis had her own Way in a triangular at Karlsruhe As she raced to a 27-second Victory Over Pitburg s Julie Daub Ney and set a new record Over the two mile course with a time of 13 16. Schwarz set a new Mark of 21 54 Over the boys four mile course finishing some seven seconds ahead of second place finisher Alan Janku Nas of Pitburg As Crisp Clear weather complemented the dry course. Everything came up sunny at the k Tovin triangular As Burdan and Johnson set More records in their respective meets. Burdan. Who took an Early Lead and then held it through the final three Miles Over the Hilly 6700-meter course edged team mate Bob Engel by seven seconds and set a record doing so at 24 05.1. Engel was timed in 24 12.3. Raiders Dave Glogowski took third place ask town took team honors with 17 Points followed by Wei Brucken. 51 and Mannheim 68. Kaiserslautern s sensational freshman harrier. Johnson completely dominated her meet out running we Brucken s Charlene Carter in a record time of 14 50. Wiesbaden s Kevin Keene grabbed a narrow Victory in a quadrangular Over his Home course out distancing Frankfurt internal ional s Mark Stokes in 25 minutes Flat Stokes ended at 25 08 Only one second ahead of third place finisher James Scovill of bad Kreuz Nach. The final entry in the meet. Berlin ran off with team honors with 44 Points. Wiesbaden was second with 47. Followed by bad k with 56. Berlin s Becky Branam took the girls Competition in 16 10, while Pat Morin and Renee Yelinik of Wiesbaden finished second and third respectively to help propel the warriors to the team win. More records fell in a triangular at Munich As Bob Davis set a new Mark in the boys Competition for Nurnberg with a time of 21 31. While Betsy Paul bested the old Mark in the girls meet for the fillies. Her time of 13 41 was one minute 14 seconds better than runner up Terri Swedlund of Nurnberg. Eagles Bill Hintze and Scott Davis made it a 1-2-3 finish in the boys meet to give Nurnberg the team win. Blackhawk Ann Garner and accents Mark Dunham won their respective races in a triangular at Bremerhaven. Garner took first with a 15 33 time 17 seconds ahead of accents Tracy Horton in the girls category. Dunham gave the Lions a win in the boys race but did it Over his brother Scott by one second in 23 08. Bremerhaven s Steve Mozel ended up nine seconds of Mark s winning Pace in third. Shape took its own meet saturday As . Hammond gave the spartans a win in the boys and Kate Ebert in the girls. Ham mond fell 19 seconds Short of the record Over the four mile course but still posted a Good time of 21 53 in beating St. John s Martin Dejong for shape s second straight win this year. Ebert ran the girls two mile course in 12 01 to beat out Bonn s Monique Lauffenburger and Pat Lane respectively. The Frankfurt boys team won their Cross country affair at Wurzburg As Eagle harrier Richard Perez captured first place in 21 09, Way ahead of Stuttgart s Brandt Groh at 21 51. Stuttgart took the girls team honors despite the first place finish by Frankfurt s Bridget Gauer. Gauer was clocked in 12 50, nine seconds better than Lorette Wiley of Stuttgart. In Turkey action the Izmir sultans out scored Ankara on its Home course 25-31, As Bill Pierce picked up a win Over the boys four mile course. Lorie Stallings made it a clean sweep for the sultans in the girls Competition As she posted a winning time of 12 06 in her two mile run. Vicenza hosted an Italy triangular Over the weekend and gained a team Victory in the girls event behind Patty Hagan s win. However Naples took the boys event Al though Aviano s Jerome Hunter won the meet Over wildcats Doug Cullom in 21 31. In . Meets London s Bob Brannon posted a winning time of 22 57 just 10 seconds off the record Over the wooded four mile course at Lakenheath while the hadies took both ends of their meet at upper hey Ford. 3 teams take clean sweeps in volleyball Stuttgart Wiesbaden and Wei Brincken overpowered their opponents in taking a clean sweep of their meets to highlight the Dodd eur volleyball action Over the weekend. Stuttgart opened its action at Wurzburg drubbing the wolves in two games 15-5 and 15-6, but then had their problems against Frankfurt As the eaglet Tes took them to the three game limit before bowing 15-12,11-15,15-13. Frankfurt got its revenge in the finale when it edged Wurz Burg 16-14,18-16. Over at Kaiserslautern we Brucken battled a town to three matches before winning 15-3, 10-15, 15-11, and then dumped Mannheim in another three game set 15-6, 6-15, 15-1, to Garner team honors. In the opener a town Defeated Mannheim 15-6, 15-5. Wiesbaden took its own quadrangular saturday As the warriors whipped bad Kreuz Nach 15-3, 15-3 downed Berlin in three games 3-15, 15-1, 15-3, and then beat Frankfurt International 15-1, 15-11. The Berlin girls bounced Back to take two wins defeating Frankfurt 11-15, 15-7, 15-5 and bad Kreuz Nach 15-4,13-15,15-4. Barbel Weinhold served eight pointers in the first game and then added seven More in the second match As Host Munich downed Nurnberg in its triangular Satur Day. The Mustangs came off both ends by identical 15-10 scores but then fell to Augsburg 15-10, 15-8 behind the All around play ing of Elaine Brown. But Christi Wil Kenders Syvia Owens and Beth Chapman turned the trick against the knights in the second contest As Pitburg trounced Karls Ruhe 15-7, 15-7 after dropping its second game 15-9. The bar Nesses ended the tournament with a 15-2, 15-0 win Over Ansbach despite the Fine efforts of cougars Debbie Rodgers and Debbie Delong. The accent Volley Allers came away tired after defeating Bremerhaven and Brussels each in three game matches. The lionesses opened with a 15-4, 4-15, 15-12 Victory Over Bremerhaven and then came from behind to trip Brussels .19-17, 15-12 after dropping the first game 15-7. The brigands beat the Blackhawk in the finale 15-9,15-12. The Hanau panthers and Hahn i Hawks captured two wins apiece to Domi Nate the quadrangular at Heidelberg. The panthers dumped Baum older 15-6, 14-16, 15-13 and then stopped Hahn s two game Streak with a 15-9, 15-11 verdict. The Northern regional will be hosted by Wiesbaden at Rhein Blick and the Southern regional will be staged at Augsburg s bavarian Hills  took the boys team title with 338 strokes five better than Kaiserslautern recorded. Mike Arnold paced Augsburg with an 87.cindy Hill and Debbie Thornton shot 61 and 63, respectively to Pace the Augsburg girls to a 17-stroke Victory Over Munich. Triangular at Nurnberg Nurnberg Germany Wurzburg and Nurnberg both posted 3-0 Golf victories Over Ansbach and the wolves and eagles tied in their match at Montieth Barracks Golf course Here saturday. Wurzburg s Rick Burger beat Nurnberg s Rudy Watkins and Ansbach s Lyle Hartshorn and the wolves Dan Standley topped Nurnberg s David Williams and Buzzy Bouquin.
