The couple were separated by 7,000 Miles. They were married by proxy. Standing in for Jones at the ceremony at the Bexar county courthouse in san Anto Nio was Sharyn s brother Michael. Their Romance continued via Long Dis Tance phone Calls and 200 mile weekend trips Between the two Texas cities. The air Force couple became engaged and made wedding plans which were Cut Short when Jones received overseas movement i got Over Here Sharyn and i decided that the earlier we got married the sooner we could apply for joint spouse status said Randall. That Means she could eventually get assigned to duties at Tempelhof. There were a couple of proxy marriages that took place while i was at Good fellow. After several letters and overseas phone Calls we decided to have a proxy marriage also. Timing was important be cause the physical exams we had were Good for Only 21 Days. We agreed to do the marriage on the Lith 12th or 13th of july. I did t know for sure what Day she would finally make it to the courthouse with the papers because of her shift work As a linguist. However i Fig ured it would be the 12th. My relatives Haven t adjusted to the idea that one Day i was single and the next Day i m married without even attending the ceremony he said. Robert Anderson As a major was chief of Stock control when the Center was called the Rhein medical depot at Ein sied werhof near Kaiserslautern. His son now has the same title. They got together recently to tour the Center and compare jobs. I m just a big record keeper said the major who was born in Kansas City mo., 33 years ago but Calls Bentonville ark., Home. He said he and his staff of 37 people receive and process All requisitions for medical supplies from military hospitals and . Embassies in Europe Africa and the Middle East. I m also responsible for making sure our inventory records agree with what is physically on hand Here he said. The Center stocks about 7,000 medical items from aspirin to Complete Field hospitals.
