Louisville 82, Bradley 68 in the West regional at Ogden Utah Louisville relying on 16 Points each by Milt Wagner and freshman Pervis Ellison and the luxury of a deep Bench moved into thursday s regional semifinals at Houston against no. 8 North Carolina. The no. 7 cardinals switched to a Box and one on Jim Les in the second half to secure the Victory. Hersey Hawkins led Bradley with 22 Points. North Carolina 77,  59 also in the Western regional Forward Joe Wolf hit six straight free throws and had two key assists late in the second half to Lead the tar heels into the next round. From there Cummings took Over scoring on a free throw a jump shot and two breakaway slam dunks to put the game out of reach. Jordan entered the game with 5 59 left in the first half and went to the Basket the first time he touched the Ball. He missed a Short jumper but was fouled and made a free throw. Mavericks 108, jazz 98 Dallas Rolando Blackman scored 10 of his 23 Points in the fourth Quarter and Derek Harper added 24 As Dallas Defeated Utah. The Mavericks who led by As Many As 10 Points Early in the final period watched the jazz pull to 96-91 on a Layup by Karl Malone with 4 17 to play. But a three Point play by Jay Vin cent a 10-food jump shot by Blackman and a free throw by Harper helped dal Las extend the advantage to 102-92. Marty Kistler last year s Champion at 158, win the 168-Pound Crown with a 15-3 Superior decision Over Oklahoma s Mark Van Tine and was named the tournament s outstanding wrestler. Kistler the no. 1 seed at 168, won his Early rounds by scores of 14-6, 21-8 and 20-4. Iowa s 1983 squad had four National champions a record until now. T also taking first for the Hawk eyes on saturday were 126-Pounder Brad Penrith 142-Pounder Kevin Dresser and 150-Pound or Jim Heffernan. Penrith had to Battle Back from deficits in nearly All his Early rounds but never trailed in defeating army s Dennis Semmel 9-4 in the finals. Semmel the first Cadet in 23 years to reach the finals had knocked off Southern Iii Nois Edwardsville s no. 1-seeded Alan Grammer in overtime on Friday. Dresser won his final bout against be High s Peter Yozzo 11-6. Joe Gibbons the defending Champion at 142 and brother of Iowa state coach Jim Gibbons got knocked off in the tournament s Early rounds and finished third by beating Oklahoma state s Luke Skove in saturday s Consolation finals
