They re travelling in style Limo style. So says Dieter Sehr manager of its a limousine and travel service in Frankfurt. According to Sehr the popularity of renting chauffeur driven limousines is increasing in West Germany. Germans of All age groups and income Levels Are slowly discovering the Little luxury that americans have known about for years. Young couples Are renting Limos for their weddings. Bachelors rent them for bar hopping Stag parties. Business people hire them to shuttle Between the Airport and City Center. And out of towners use them during layovers to take personalized guided chauffeur driven Tours of Frankfurt. Sehr attributes the increased popularity to foreign tourists and business people for whom driving in the luxurious cars is commonplace. Wealthy arabs asians and americans Many of them accustomed to driving in style in their homelands certainly Don t forgo the luxury when abroad. It was never really in to rent Limos in Germany says Sehr a former head Cook at the officers club on Babenhausen Cavern in West Germany. But because of the tourists who consider it Normal it s slowly becoming More popular among  Sehr counts its among the largest limousine services in Germany. The company established five years ago by Sehr s brother Wolfgang began As a shuttle service Between the Frankfurt Airport and the downtown area. After about a year in business the Brothers discovered an increasing demand for chauffeur driven vehicles. Its now boasts a Fleet of 29 automobiles 13 of which Are registered for the Road at any one time. Despite the increasing popularity of renting limousines most its customers Are visiting vips and wealthy foreigners. On a recent afternoon a Spaniel countess was chauffeured to Baden Baden where she would be undergoing a cure. A Large arabian family vacationing in Frankfurt booked a Limo for a sightseeing drive to Cologne. And a japanese businessman planning a boat ride up the Rhine River with his family rented a Limo to pick them up at Tho end of the boat trip. Rental fees at its begin at about $289 per eight hour Day for a Mercedes 250 stretch equipped with to video and Telephone. Prices include the stripes Magazine August 25,1988
