But there Are a few who Aren t. Some of these customers who Are so Rich they think they can do anything says Herbst. That includes expecting chauffeurs to violate traffic regulations. Herbst recalls driving the Princess of Brunei in the Volvo Royal Crown limousine. She insisted on being driven to a Flower shop in Frankfurt that had no Access by car and no nearby parking. Fortunately says Herbst most policemen sympathize with the chauffeurs and will often look the other Way when a limousine is parked illegally. And then there Are passengers who request Well something a Little bit out of the Ordinary. Sometimes we do have As we germans Call them those crazy americans " says Herbst. The chauffeur remembers a Rich american who lived in a hotel in downtown Frankfurt just a five minute walk from the main pedestrian shopping area. Yet he insisted on renting a Mercedes 500 to take him there. When it came time to Cross the pedestrian Street to a store on the other Side the american refused to walk. Herbst had to drive around the shopping area to take him to the other Side. Bruce Springsteen in Frankfurt recently insisted that his chauffeur Wear White gloves and a Cap while driving him from his hotel to the stadium. The Driver required Only to Wear a dark Blue suit while on the Job did t have the accessories. Herbst says the Singer eventually decided to forgo his demand. Actress Linda Gray of Dallas Fame rented a Mercedes 500 while in Frankfurt Only to experience driving in a fast car. Herbst says he drove her from the Airport to downtown at a Speed of about 200 Kilometres an hour.
