Inspections needed i would like to comment on the recent article concerning air Force household goods shipments being delayed because of a Safe sparing Down of customs inspections. In be been serving As a military customs inspector Sci at Raf Milden Hall for the past two weeks. During this time in be encountered a disturbing number of air Force members trying to ship unauthorized items in their household goods and hold baggage. Each member was pre briefed by to transportation movements office about restricted and prohibited goods. If mics Hadnot conducted inspections and examinations of their pack outs the government could be lost thousands of dollars in stolen property just in that Short Tim Frame alone. Here a a partial listing of recently confiscated items a bomb tips an Iff control Box communications equipment medical supplies electronic components chemical warfare gear and computer software. One airman had Well Over $300 Worth of Small avionics Type Bench Stock items that he was hoping to ship Home.
