On returning from a trip to Czechoslovakia we headed to Vilseck to put some Gas in the near empty tank of our car. We arrived to find that All the Gas stations in the Vicinity that accepted Gas coupons were closed. You May be wondering Why we did t of buy some German Gas. Well my Wal it was stolen in Prague so we had absolutely no Money of any kind. We turned to the most logical source of help at the time a it was Midnight a the maps. The maps told us they were a too Busy to help us and told us to go stay in the guest House. We began flagging people Down on the Street. We were desperate to get Home. After numerous delays on the roads out of Czechoslovakia we just could t take anymore. We had driven through a heavy rainstorm and gone 20 hours without sleep. Finally a lady stopped and invited us to her House. It was 12 30 . She and her husband went above and beyond the Call to help us. They made a fresh pot of Coffee offered their guest room to us if we wanted to stay the night and gave us free use of their phone. They gave us the Gas in their Lawn Mower and called All Over looking for a Hose so they could Siphon Gas from their car. However we realized their car was equipped with an anti siphoning device. It was now 2 30 . Finally these Nice people led us to Amberg and paid to fill the tank with German Gas. They used Motiey they had put aside for their phone Bill. All this time they never made us feel As though we were imposing on them. Our Promise to mail them the Money was not a concern of theirs. We were finally on the Road to Hanau at 3 15 .
