But an attorney involved in a lawsuit seeking to improve prison conditions said Mclain 42, who won 31 games for the Detroit tigers in 1968, is being persecuted in an attempt to keep inmates from telling lawyers about conditions at the prison. Mclain was convicted in . District court in Tampa fla., on March 16, 1985 of racketeering extortion and drug dealing charges and sentenced to 23 years in prison. My understanding is that he is in the lockup for having some material in his pos session that he was not supposed to have Levine said in a Telephone interview from his Tampa office. It had nothing to do with the porno  Leshaw said Mclain was put in segregation on charges of possessing Blank file folders a notebook some accounting sheets and some other stuff that was on a communal desk that had been sitting there for months.
