She is All smiles her frizzled Gray hair pulled Back in a Bun head held High As a proper Connecticut woman would and dressed for Comfort not show. She wears an old Black Turtleneck a worn Black sweater Vest Pink drawstring pants Cherry red socks and battered clogs. It is her style to be at ease. I have a. Happy nature she says leaning Back in an easy chair in her four Story Brownstone apartment in a historic Section of Manhattan. "1 mean i like Good food and chocolate and i like laughter. And Why not i go to bed Early and i get up very Early. It s the habit of a lifetime. That s Why i suppose 1 always liked the movies. I think trying to be fascinating at 8 o clock at night is my idea of something absolutely hellish. I take a Nap eat a Steak i eat a bowl of ice Cream with a lot of chocolate sauce and i Hope i Wake  the things that bring her pleasure Are not the usual Hollywood Flash and glitter. They Are a Good Book her backyard Garden walks in Central Park bicycle rides around her neighbourhood and Sun shining through the windows. And a Good part movies like Adam s rib or guess who s coming to dinner and Tracy a Man she could never marry and her latest work mrs. Delafield wants to marry which recently aired on . To. Hepburn strikes a match and lights the paper crumpled beneath the Connecticut grown Beech logs in her fireplace. As the fire crackles she sits Back Down in her easy chair. Outside it is Crisp and Cool the sky is Spring Blue. She smiles her magical smile again and it works wonders just like in the movies. I m Happy. As Long As the car goes i m going to be driving it. I think i be had wonderful use of it so Katharine Hepburn 76, has won a record four Academy awards.  still running smoothly the motor thrives on work not acclaim. There Are people who for no reason at All you get on with them. But people s monogamy is a very Peculiar  in mrs. Delafield wants to marry Hepburn played a wealthy old widow who has a love affair with the younger physician played by Harold Gould who saved her life. Her children do not approve of this Man. He s divorced and jewish. She s Chippendale and Gentile. She s alone and he s alone and they meet and it s really Nice Hepburn says. I think people like wonderful stories. I can t believe that it All has to be  Hepburn says she has led a charmed life but for people like Tracy a Man she never fully understood life is not so simple. Life is really Tough. The terribly Tough thing is we Don t understand each other. As Well As i knew Spencer i did t really know him. Did he know me How few people one meets How few where you think we re together very very few. I think this is the tragedy of life. Is it love is it understanding she says this becomes More apparent As she nears the end of the  i am not trying to make myself a comfortable bed in the next world. I feel we re Here to do the Best we can. I be had it very Lucky. I was born at the right moment for what turned out to be me. So i m looking at it from a very Nice upholstered chair.
