The Gainesville Sun citing unidentified sources familiar with the probe reported that investigators had been told by Edward Lewis Humphrey where to look for the knife in the Indialantic Fla., Home owned by his grandmother. The knife was found thursday the newspaper reported. It was confiscated along with books videotape and clothing the Sun said. Tests were scheduled to try to determine if the knife was linked to the killings. The task Force of state Federal and local Law agencies investigating the killings in an area near the University of Florida renewed their criticism of leaks to news organizations including a weekend report that Humphrey admitted to having knowledge of the first two killings. He is still being held at the Brevard county detention Center on $ 1 million Bond in that assault but has not been charged in the Gainesville Case. The Florida times Union has reported that during an interview with investigators last week Humphrey named someone he said killed the first two victims Christina Powell 17, and Sonja Larson 18. The two students were found stabbed to death aug. 26 in their Gainesville apartment. The times Union said investigators believe that a John a the person Humphrey named is one of the multiple personalities he has appeared to exhibit. Humphrey reportedly made the statement to Florida department of Law enforcement investigators while being held on the charges involving his grandmother Darnell said investigators expect defense attorneys to Challenge the admissibility of any statements Humphrey has made if he is charged in the Gainesville Case.
