Caregivers get subsidies in 3-month test program s by Rosemary Sawyer staff writer Home child care providers in three army communities Are being Given subsidies in a test designed to lure people into the business of caring for children in their Homes. Aschaffenbur Nimberg and Augsburg Home care Ivers have been receiving As much As $300 a month rom the army during the three month test that began in july. A a we re hoping to see from the test what Impact a subsidy would have on attracting additional providers to the program and opening up new spaces for child care a said Maria Getzin 7th corps family child care director. Child care officials use a Complex formula to figure How much each caregiver should receive. Most providers in the test program receive about $75 or $100 a month Getzin said. Some of the factors determining the amount of the subsidy Are the number of children the provider cares for their Ages and the number of hours of care. Caregivers receive the subsidy for caring Only for service members children. The provider must be provisionally or fully certified with family child care to receive the Money.
