Although they played non speaking parts Petty officers 1st Gass Jon Shomell and Kevin Sullivan Are hoping to see their names among the cast which included Roger Moore Michael Caine and Sally Kirkland. The movie was produced and directed by Michael Winner director of All the death wish films. Moore and Caine play a pair of bad Guys trying to rip off a pair of scientists a also played by Moore and Caine a who be been Selling their discovery of the secret to atomic fusion on the open Market. In their roles As bad Guys they Are arrested by Cia agents among whom Are Sullivan and Shomell two of the locations at which the spy spoof was shot last fall were Inveraray and Dunder ave castles on Loch Fyne in Scotland about 25 Miles Northwest of the . Holy Loch. The Crew also filmed in and around London and in Barbados. When the Scotland production staff for the movie was looking for extras to play the part of the Cia agents they decided the Best Pool to choose from would be american sailors at holy Loch they fit the Bill of being in Good shape and having clean Cut appearances. Besides Sullivan and Shomell five other sailors answered the casting Call but Only one other Sailor Petty officer 1st class Jon Anderson a stayed for the whole five Days they were needed on location. Anderson has since transferred from holy Loch. The five Days they were on location did no to prove to be lucrative. Shomell and Sullivan said they were paid 20 pounds about $40 a Day and just broke even after subtracting their transportation costs. What s More the film the sailors made their cinematic debut in is apparently not going to win any Academy awards. When it premiered in London nov. 1, the guardian called it a a witless and badly made Chase comedy. That succeeds Only in recreating the atmosphere of Low budget British comedies of the �?T70s.�?� a second newspaper the Independent said it a has the stale whiff of a bad �?T60s  but Sullivan and Thornell probably wont mind the bad reviews any More than they minded the Low pay. A when i was in school everyone said i should be in the movies a said 29-year-old Sullivan who decided 10 years ago to join the Navy instead. A it was interesting to see How a film was made. You can spend an hour or two doing something and then it will Only be 10 seconds of the film a said Sullivan. The weather was typically scottish As Well a Windy and raining and Shomell and Sullivan said it always seemed to become particularly blustery on the Days the sailors put on their tartan skirts. A it was the first time i wore a Kilt and probably the last time a said Sullivan who has lived in Scotland for the past decade. A i done to think i have the Knees for a Kilt a he joked. Sullivan Wasny to giving any answers to that age old question about what one wears under a Kilt. But Thornell divulged his secret gym pants. Off camera he would Roll them Down and keep warm and when a a action was yelled he rolled them up. Besides playing Cia agents the sailors were used As extras in scenes involving crowds. Only one of five sailors got to utter a few words on camera said Shomell. A and All he said was a lets go men in the Chase  even though he Snow worked on a movie for the Silver screen alongside big name stars Sullivan has no illusions of grandeur.
