Wiesbaden a troubles began immediately. After striking out Lead off Batter Samir Cortes Pitcher Rob Linder walked right Pedro Maldonado who stole second and moved to third on a passed Ball by Catcher Shawn Lucas. Linder then walked Greg Zayas on a wild pitch which allowed Maldonado to score and enabled a hustling Zayas to Advance to second. Zayas then stole third and was brought in on a sacrifice Fly by Nestor Colon making it 2-0. Don Ismael then struck out but by then the tone of the contest was set. After a second inning double by Baum older second baseman Jim Legg Pitcher Ashley Fullerd grounded out on a liner off Linders leg which moved Legg Over to third. A wild pitch brought in Legg to make it 3-0. After Linder walked left fielder Scott Spencer he then threw two consecutive wild pitches while giving up a walk to Center fielder Mike Reece which moved Spencer around to third. Reece moved to second when Spencer was picked off and moved to third on yet another wild pitch. He then came in on Center fielder Randy Dirling a two base error of Cortes Fly Ball making it 4-0. Another wild pitch moved Cortes to third. Linder then walked him Home and walked Maldonado. Three More passed balls then scored Maldonado from air St making it 6-0. Colon mercifully ended the inning with a pop up to third baseman Paul Northam. The rout was on. Baum older added single runs in the third and fourth innings to stretch their Lead to 8-0, but stalled in the fifth when is european big league Mael Legg and Fullerd went Down 1-2-3 on strikeouts. Baum older padded their Lead with 7 More runs in the final two stanzas highlighted by Nestor colons two run blast in the 7th which closed out the Baum older scoring. That a when the Budesheim Alberta coach decided to accept the Job of bringing a hungarian youth baseball pro8ram to life a it was an Opportunity i pass up a the 52-year-old Laskey said. A it was a Way i could pay Back for All the game has Given me. I did no to wait to mail my application. I went ahead and faxed Laskey a journey began earlier this year when the hungarian Little league requested assistance from the Canadian government in finding a coach. The coach had to be willing to donate time instructing Young players on the fundamentals of the game in return for paid airfare and Board. Laskey jumped at the Chance. He arrived in Budapest in Early May to find a City that had no baseball diamonds and Little equipment to instruct his students. His Challenge had begun. After spending time drilling three different age groups on baseball fundamentals in an open Park Field for a few weeks Laskey took the two younger groups to compete in a local fourth of july tournament this year in Ramstein Germany. Not in the Hopes of winning anything but just to learn. George Laskey a the Little Guys were just Happy to be playing against other teams a Laskey said. Currently Laskey is coach of the Saskatchewan red sox big league team Back Home in addition to serving As a scout for the american league East division leading Blue jays. Laskey a time with his Young players will end july 28 when he is scheduled to return to Canada. He said he will not return next season to coach and will miss the boys and the work he has begun.
